About B.E.A.T.S.

‘British Earthquake And Tsunami Support’ (BEATS) began as a result of the Boxing Day tsunami of 2004.

The effect on Indonesia was particularly catastrophic. We are principally helping victims of this catastrophe and also victims of the earthquakes on Nias Island and in Padang, both in Indonesia.

BEATS partner with two Indonesian charities, ‘YACAN’ and ‘YASAH’. At this present time BEATS are largely helping in 3 ways:

  1. Supporting over 30 children in Aceh (which was the worst hit area of the Boxing day tsunami 2004) through individual sponsorship.
  2. Supporting over 35 children and students in YACAN Children’s Home in Medan through individual sponsorship and grants.
  3. Supporting over 400 children in YASAH Children’s Home in Medan through teacher sponsorship and grants and over 25 children and students through individual sponsorship.
